The Heineken Sports Bar, located in terminal 2 of Portela airport, is contained in a 97m2 plot of the area called Espaço Comercial (EC) 12.
The bar is divided into two functionally distinct areas, aggregated through a formal and material agreement. Counter 01, essentially a service area, and the public area, structured in order to meet three dynamics of space use: High-end tables typically associated with the “Pub”, restaurant tables and lounge area with sofas and low tables for a more intimate presence.
Counter area 01 denounces the entrance to the public area and determines the consistency of materials and textures applied throughout the bar. A paneling develops from the counter that runs the entire length of the wall on the back of the bar, translating a uniformity of materials and formal coherence. This wall, covered with bottles, develops altimetrically from the paneling, extending to the length of the bar, determining a background associated with the brand (wall of Fame)
The public area expresses the typical Pub ambience through the dark tones of the materials and controlled lighting. A system of vertically inserted wooden rulers determines the physical separation, transparent to the eye, from the living area with the technical and sanitary areas of the airport, translating a feeling of comfort and security to the visitors of this space.
